Waste2X hub - How can we create industrial recycling of residual waste?

What do we need?
Vækstteamet is working on Skiveegnens Vækststrategi (The region of Skive's Growth Strategy) and are focusing on the massive consumption of resources and the corresponding waste generated. For instance, the construction industry accounts for more than 30% of our CO2 emissions and material consumption.
How can we utilize the enormous amounts of materials that are discarded in connection with surplus production, disposal of defective products, and materials?

What circular business models can be integrated into this challenge, so we can industrially recycle or upcycle residual materials and surplus production, and in doing so, develop new businesses and product types?
In Vækstteamet, we present two specific challenges that can highlight industrial recycling:

- The challenge is to develop a generic business model for recycling, for example, construction and industrial waste, so that it can be used in new products. This would involve an industrialized process where the collection of industrial waste/spillage in supply chains can meet an industrialized need. Residual materials can include wood, glass, plastic, metal, stone, insulation materials, cables, and much more.

- Waste2X hub – colocation, synergies, and shared services.
The Waste2X hub will function as a community where manufacturers can gain access to a production site without large capital commitments, which is one of the typical growth barriers.

We would like your input on how a Waste2X hub can be organized:

- How can a group of companies collaborate and utilize synergies in a community, for example, by sharing employees, exchanging or sharing residual waste streams from neighboring production, or collaborating on common logistics, sales, and more?

- How can joint planning be carried out so that the capacity of a Waste2X hub is optimally utilized, both for individual companies and for the entire group of companies that have access to the hub? Challenges may include seasonal fluctuations, delivery times, logistics challenges, etc. Is it possible for multiple companies to standardize their processes across products, and how can such collaboration be facilitated?
